Some quick pics from our weekend away at the beach. Lots of fun...
Sarah in her "bath" made from sand. She gave us a bit of a fright one day while away, while browsing the shops... She thought she couldn't see Steve (who was still in the shop with her) so set about to go and look for him! She ended up out of the shop and down the street a bit, along a footpath. Was only a matter of minutes looking for her, but enough time to start worrying of course. At the time she didn't seem too concerned, so I will have to do a re-run of the rules/reminders, and maybe somewhat of a 'practise' in a shop pointing out what to do etc. Hard to get a child that age to understand that despite 'losing' your Dad you don't go looking for him in the way you do for lost toys!! A bit scarey.

Tim got the hang of how to use the boogie board after a while
Caleb enjoyed some rides on his board- being pulled/skimmed along by Steve.
Bethany wasn't happy about getting wet (still a bit cold) but had a great time in the sand. At one point she had sand all over her face- into her eyelashes, covering a runny nose and yet she wasn't crying and didn't even look bothered by it!
It rained the first afternoon away, but that suits just fine for reading :)
Steve invented a new version of the "go fish" card game for the kids! He called it "manners"! You have to ask for a card by saying "excuse me________, do you have a ________" etc!!! Must admit, felt a bit corny, and I mucked around with it, but the boys took on the challenge and Caleb particularly remembered the rules. Steve's secret intent of course, was that it might carry over to other times..... ;)
